Doing the Right Thing is Hard

A father describes how he and his daughter found and helped a friend who was considering suicide.

My daughter and I were out for a walk one day when we saw one of her friends from school sitting on the edge of a bridge, looking like she was about to jump. We ran over to her and asked what was wrong. She told us that she was feeling really down and didn't see any point in living anymore. My daughter and I talked to her for a while and eventually convinced her to come down off the bridge with us. We took her home and called her parents to let them know what was going on. They were really grateful that we had found her and helped her.
